Distance shouldn't stand between a gardener and a real plan. By Correspondence brings you everything in the full-service design — the concepts, the drawn plan and planting list, three revisions, the palette that carries all four seasons — with the site work in your hands.

How it works:

1. On commission, you receive the Site Story Kit — a warm, unhurried guide to measuring your beds, mapping sun and shade through the day, noting your soil's composition, and photographing what's there.
2. You send your site's story; I design from it — concepts first, then the full plan and planting list, with up to three revisions.
3. Your planting list arrives with recommended sources — regional growers and trusted mail-order nurseries — so every plant on the plan is a plant you can actually get. (Within our growers' delivery range, I can quote and order for you, just like full service.)

You are the surveyor; that's the $600 you're saving. Everything else is the same garden-making, by correspondence — the oldest and loveliest way gardeners have always schemed. As with full service, a commission composes one planting area — one mood, around eighty plants across some 250 square feet — with half-mood steps at $450, additional areas at $900, and the Custom Maintenance Guide at $350.
